But for me, my mindset is very much about creating something new, as opposed to you know, going back to what I know will work, and trust me, I love the Demon King. And, you know, I’m sure in the future, you know, I will get there but right now I’m 100% focused on being the Prince and kind of delivering in that character, and that’s something that I want to emphasize on the TV show and kind of hemming and hawing with this answer. We will get there eventually. But right now. I’m not there.”

“I think it’s refreshing. I think [Reigns] needed to evolve for himself. Think he wanted to evolve and I think he sees that he can bring a new attitude and a new game to SmackDown…the more incredible stars we have, the better we are as a whole. And I think he’s found something in Paul Heyman that will benefit him and we all know what Paul Heyman did with Brock Lesnar. I think he can do the same with Roman Reigns. So it’s something special right now. He’s firing on all cylinders. He took a few months off and we’ll see where he’s at physically when he gets tested in a long championship match. He took a shortcut, I can’t hate him for that, taking that shortcut to get that universal championship at Payback.”

WWE Rumours - Finn Balor shared his experience to wrestle with Brock Lesnar - Sports Info Now

In the recent interview, current NXT Champion Finn Balor talked about his past program with Brock Lesnar. Balor said that his match against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2019 was one of his favorite matches of his wrestling career.

Nearly two years before, The Prince and The Beast take on each other for Universal Championship. For Finn Balor, it’s an amazing and different experience when he wrestles against Brock Lesnar.

Finn Balor describes unique experience wrestling Brock Lesnar

Here are Finn Balor’s words:

“That was a great night. Obviously, Brock’s reputation proceeds himself. You rarely get the feeling that he brings into the arena. The one thing I remember is that, you know, I’ve done my entrance, his music hits, he gets in the ring and it’s not an act and it’s not playtime. It’s very, very serious and it’s life or death.”

“And it’s a moment where you feel completely lost in what’s happening around you. You’re not acting, you’re not pretending, you’re not performing, you’re living in this moment. And you’re living in Brock Lesnar’s world. It was that it was a very, very rare moment where you’re fully absorbed in what’s happening in the ring.”

Finn Balor also said that that was a unique experience and that something that he wants to have one more time before his wrestling career ends. The match against Brock Lesnar was the last time that Finn Balor gets a title shot for Universal Championship.

Finn Balor talks about winning the WWE Universal title again

But Finn Balor always remembers as the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. Unfortunately, his title reign has lasted for only 24 hours because he has to relinquish the title following an episode of RAW after he won the title at SummerSlam 2016. After that WWE gave him two opportunities to reclaim Universal Championship that he never lost. But on both occasions he not able to win the title.

Here are Finn Balor’s words:

“I don’t really prioritize titles. You know, this strange outlook in regards to those things. I’ve been very fortunate to have held the Universal Title in the past. That was kind of all I needed in the sense that that’s the chase, that’s what you want. Do you know? You go get it and once you have it, you know, anything else after that is just kind of dressing on the side.”

Does Finn Balor prioritize regaining the Universal Championship?

Finn Balor also hopes that in the future he would like to involve in the Universal Championship picture once again. But at the same time, Finn Balor shows more interest to go for WWE Championship rather than the Universal title.

Here are Finn Balor’s words:

“With regards to titles and accolades in this business, that’s not what drives me. Going out and performing to the best of my ability every night, that’s kind of what drives me. You know, to be creative in the ring. To wrestle a style that, you know, I feel confident in is something that drives me.”
